When you live in the mountains, you generally get used to insects and bugs. That being said, those insects and bugs are definitely not welcome inside the house. As the weather cools and insects start to seek refuge indoors, it’s important to do what we can to protect the home from those invertebrate invaders. However, with so many different types of bug sprays available, it can be difficult to know which type will get all of the creepy crawlers specific to where you live. Fortunately, Pestie has made it easy for homeowners to get the right pest control for their region. In this Pestie insect repellant review, I’ll share my experience with the Pestie Home Barrier Pest Control Kit.
I received a complimentary Pestie Home Barrier Pest Control Kit to facilitate this honest Pestie review. All opinions are my own.
What is Pestie?
Pestie is a new way to combat insect pests. Unlike the one-sze-fits-all bug sprays, Pestie uses their “Pest IQ technology” to deliver state-of-the-art, professional-grade insecticides customized to your area and climate. That means customers in California will likely get a different formula from customers in New York. Additionally, Pestie rotates through pesticides to discourage insects from building resistance, helping to keep the insect repellant effective. Some of the bugs Pestie combats include: ants, spiders, cockroaches, grasshoppers, stink bugs, and more!
How Pestie Works
Pestie makes it easy to get your customized pest control solution delivered right to your door. The Pestie Smart Pest Plan ships four times per year and includes everything you need to protect your home from bugs and insects.
Inside your first Pestie box, you’ll find the Pesticide formula (bottled and bagged), a disposable bag, a rechargeable application sprayer, gloves, and instructions. As a subscriber, subsequent boxes will only include a new application bag, gloves, and pesticide concentrate, so make sure you store the sprayer in its bag between uses.
My Experience Using Pestie
Before you start spraying Pestie, some preparation is required. First, you fill the application bag with water. There is a fill line to let you know how much water to add.
Then, you carefully pour the liquid pesticide into the application bag, then cap the bag with the sprayer tube assembly. Carefully give the bag a good shake to mix everything together before spraying.
The Pestie rechargeable sprayer is very easy to use. It is charged via USB (a charger cord is provided.) You can see the power level using the five LED lights located on the green panel. Pull the sprayer tip out and push the green lever to start spraying.
Pestie recommends holding the sprayer about 2 feet away and spraying around the foundation of your home. Aim for a 4 foot band that goes about 2 feet up the walls and 2 feet away on the ground. You should also spray around windows (avoiding the glass), door frames, and garage door openings – really any place where bugs can crawl into or anywhere you’ve seen unwanted insects.
IMPORTANT: To help protect honey bees and other pollinators, Pestie suggests that you do not apply pesticides while bees are foraging and to avoid plants that are flowering, shedding pollen, or producing nectar. To play it safe, I avoided the gardens along the house entirely.
Spray the Pestie insect repellant all around your home. One bag should cover around 4500 sq. feet, so pace yourself accordingly. Keep spraying around your home until you’ve used all of the pesticide mixture. Once mixed, Pestie cannot be stored overnight.
If you have kids or pets, you’ll want to keep them away from the area that you sprayed until it dries, which usually takes less than an hour. I sprayed on a sunny day, so it didn’t take much time at all (although the dogs didn’t seem to mind lounging inside while they waited, LOL!)
Does Pestie Insect Repellant Work? Results
Just a few days after spraying Pestie around the home, I started noticing the bug caracasses piling up. It has been a few weeks since spraying and I have seen a grand total of ZERO bugs inside the home. No spiders, no leaf bugs, no stink bugs. Nothing. I received Pestie formula “Home Barrier S1” and it absolutely succeeded at eliminating unwanted bugs and keeping our home insect-free. Pestie insect repellant works.
Pestie Home Insect Repellant Review: Final Thoughts
After several weeks of testing, I can confidently say that Pestie’s customized pest control solution delivers on its promises. What stands out most about this insect repellant system is its region-specific approach – you’re not just getting a generic bug spray, but rather a targeted formula designed for your area’s specific pest challenges.
The application process, while requiring some initial setup, is straightforward and user-friendly. The rechargeable sprayer works efficiently, and I like that subsequent deliveries only include what you actually need for reapplication.
What I particularly like about the Pestie pest control system is:
- Customized formula based on location
- Easy-to-follow application instructions
- Effective results with zero insects spotted indoors
- Professional-grade products delivered to your door
- Smart rotation of pesticides to prevent resistance
For homeowners looking for a professionally-formulated insect control solution that delivers visible results and continued protection, I suggest you consider Pestie.
