I’m in the middle of fixing up my bathroom. And by “in the middle” I mean that only 2 of the 4 walls are painted and there is still blue tape around electrical outlets. It’s not that there was anything wrong with the bathroom specifically. It’s just that sometimes you want to add a little personality to the ‘ole cookie cutter bathroom.
When it comes to customizing the bathroom, you can choose paint colors, fixtures, and sinks. Do you want to have a double sink or have a single bathroom vanity? Do you want country and rustic or glass and modern? Right now, I’m kind of going with an ocean feel – a lovely blue on the walls to match the tan colored tiles and cabinets. The white countertops are the foam of the blue oceans. My sinks are double sinks, but if I could start from scratch, I’d probably get own of those cool bowl sinks.
Another thing I wish I could give myself is a place to sit down when putting on my make-up or getting ready to go out. Leaning over the sink to put on eyeliner is not fun or comfortable. That’s where bedroom vanities seem like great options. They provide your own designated “MINE!” spot where you can comfortably do all the things women need to do before leaving the house, without having to worry about sharing a sink with someone.
I know I’ve got a designated “handy man” day coming up where hopefully I’ll be able to finish up with the bathroom. And then…I’ve got a few more other rooms to add some personality to. 🙂
I think a double vanity is essential if you have a SO and the room.
I don’t store my makeup in the bathroom and have a makeshift vanity in the bedroom.
