Every year, spring cleaning comes around and I root around under cabinets and through closets, carefully sorting items that have collected over the past several months into piles – keep, donate, trash. Some piles can get large – very large – and at those times, having a large, heavy duty garbage bag is just the thing to have.
Glad has two different Black Bags that can help you with your trash – from stinky trash to piles of leaves to anything else that can fit inside a trash bag. I’ve been using the Glad® ForceFlex® Black Bags for my spring cleaning. I like them because they are large (available in both 30 gallon and 33 gallon sizes) and the ForceFlex texture stretches around odd shaped items without tearing. For stinkier messes, use Glad® OdorShield® Black Bag to neutralize odors and leave a fresh clean scent.
I recently cleaned out the bathroom cabinets of old product and broken storage items. Here you can see the bathroom cabinets that are in dire need of organization. You can see the Glad ForceFlex Black Bag hanging on the door, “eagerly” waiting to be put to good use.
And here is the after shot – after everything has been cleared out. It’s especially important to have a bag you can rely on when you’ve got a LOT of trash stuffed into the bag, because you do NOT want to have a stuffed trash bag rip or tear while carrying it out.
While you’re doing your cleaning, keep in mind that something you may think is trash may actually be useful. There are lots of ways to reuse items that may otherwise be discarded. The Picker Sisters – interior designers Tracy Hutson and Tanya McQueen – believe that “one person’s trash is another person’s treasure” and have teamed up with Glad® Black Bag and Keep America Beautiful to find innovative ways to reuse trash. The perfect example of turning trash into treasure can be seen in some new mosaics created by mosaic artist Jason Mecier.
Glad® Black Bag Art Auction
Jason Mecier has created 4 unique arts of work that exemplify reuse. He used people’s trash or “wild life remnants” to create distinct and beautiful mosaics. These pieces of art are now available at auction in the Glad® Black Bag Art Auction from April 16 through April 26th. In addition to the Jason Mecier mosaics, other items donated by celebrities will be auctioned off on eBay for us to bid on.The proceeds from this auction will benefit Keep America Beautiful’s Great America Cleanup.
Take a look at these treasures and let us know if you decided to bid on your favorite item.
Disclaimer: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Glad Black Bag and received a Glad Black Bag product and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate. I was also asked to “pin” one (1) Glad Black Bag Art Auction photo on Pinterest.
These bags are exspensive, but worth the money when I want to put a lot of garbage in them and do not want to have the bag break! I have used a cheaper bag and it has busted open, and everything went on the floor!
I’ve been using the Costco brand bags and they work very well and are less expensive.
I had not heard of Jason Mecier, but I like his mosaic shown here. I am always aware that someone’s junk could be someone else’s treasure.
The arts are so cool looking especially the monkey.
We use Glad bags here too! I haven’t tried their black ones, though. They seem pretty sturdy! We’re about to begin some outdoor projects so we may need to get some.
these pictures are amazing. I think they would make a great “what can you find” game with the kids 🙂 as well as some awesome artwork
Amazing art by Jason. Such a creative mind. I’ve yet to use the Force Flex but will try them out because it’s time for m to clean out my storage bin. These bags look huge. Thanks for the review.

NEVER HEARD OF THIS …THIS IS GREAT TO KNOW
Wow, his mosaics are awesome! The raccoon is my favorite. And we use only Glad bags. When something works, no reason to change.
