The guide gives a list of art supplies you may have and ones to add as needed, how-to ideas for starting, inspiration, and projects. I recommend purchasing a special Bible for journaling since a traditional Bible’s pages may be too thin for the art supplies—there are many available in nearly every version of translation. You could also use a decorative lined notebook or journal, planner, or similar folio. Gather all materials before you start.
Begin with prayer to set your heart and mind and to find guidance. Thinking of favorite verses may inspire you—there is no right or wrong way to Bible journal. Then create. Using the guide, decide on a project with the designs, templates, lettering, and exercises to help you express yourself in your Faith journey.
This guide is unique in that it has project pages for you to practice on to help give you confidence as you start. This is a personal journey between you and God, and you can find ways to affirm your faith as you create.
I highlighted favorite passages in my devotional Bible, using template guides–I drew them free hand in pencil, went over them with a fine line pen, embellished with brush markers, and I erased the pencil marks. While doing this, I was inspired by the words and meditated on the scripture.
I also used brush markers and paper edger scissors I already owned to create a bookmark from a project included in the guide. When I use this bookmark, I can remember how I was filled with God’s love while creating.
I really enjoyed feeling deeper Faith while expressing my art through the ideas in the Faith Journaling for the Inspired Artist. It’s a great, encompassing guide which gives confidence to the beginner and ideas for the advanced artist while affirming one’s Faith through Bible journaling. This guide will serve as a reference book for years.
Faith Journaling for the Inspired Artist is available for sale on Amazon and other online retailers.
